KISU ‘Dal Segno’ World Tour in Helsinki: K-pop Concert Review

Hey guys! How have you been? We had a great opportunity in Helsinki to check out a K-pop concert in a long while a few weeks ago. K-pop artists only sometimes come to my home country Finland. So, it was a great pleasure to attend the K-pop artist KISU’s “Dal Segno” world tour in Europe and a concert on 15th February in Suvilahti, Helsinki! KISU is currently touring Europe, and the concert tour is organized by Beyond Entertainment. Here’s a concert review of the fantastic KISU concert in my hometown!

So, as I mentioned, K-pop artists rarely come to Helsinki, Finland. Last year Sunmi came to perform at the Kulttuuritalo. Unfortunately, not all who wanted tickets, including me, got them, as they were sold out in minutes. I had tickets for the KISU show then, so I was excited about the forthcoming concert! The concert was rescheduled, and finally, it took place this February, luckily! Here is another concert review of this concert by KOME in Finnish, which I found; if you are interested, check that review too!

KISU is a South Korean solo singer-songwriter who has previously been in a boy group called 24K. KISU released a more extended album called “Sweet Lie” in 2017 when he still was in 24K, and after that, many single releases, such as “BOY” in 2021 and “Will be fine” in 2022, as a solo artist. So, I had already listened to all of KISU’s songs before the concert and was excited because his songs are melodic and excellent!

The KISU concert venue Tiivistämö in Suvilahti, Helsinki

The concert venue was Tiivistämö, one of the oldest industry districts in Helsinki from the start of the 2000th century. You can see beautiful old industrial buildings in this area. There are incredible music festivals, such as the Flow Festival in the summer. So, it is a remarkable area in Helsinki. It is developing a lot in the following years as the power plant that is there shuts down this year. There have been plans to build cultural spaces, offices and restaurants. Looks pretty amazing to me, the future!

Tiivistämö is a small and cosy venue for concerts, and there are many K-pop happenings and workshops these days. KISU’s show took place at Lämpiö, an excellent place for an intimate and heartwarming concert with the fans!

New and old KISU songs in balance

KISU started his concert with upbeat and melodic songs such as “Waves of you” and “Drive!“. These songs represent KISU’s bright pop side: he has excellent hooks in the songs, and the melodies are captivating. His soft vocals and music productions are wonderful in these songs. Hence, I hope this tour will help him get more recognition for the amazing songs in his catalogue!

What was unique about the show was that we got to hear new songs that are up and coming. I still remember a song called “As One” and the chorus, as we all sang that one at the concert. So that one is a catchy tune if you still remember it after two weeks after the show! So showcasing new songs in the show was one of the night’s biggest highlights.

Memories from KISU’s career: 24K

KISU has been in a boy group called 24K, and he incorporated a medley of their songs into the concert. Some of the fans in Helsinki had already been fans of 24K, so they must have waited for this concert so much to happen! The 24K songs performed were EDM and hip-hop-influenced K-pop songs, bringing a noteworthy variance to the show on Wednesday. We heard, for example, “Super Fly“, which has some cool beats and hooks: sounds like a classic K-pop to me and this song is a bop! So, it was time to dance, and Finnish fans danced!

Emotional ballads and popular covers

KISU performed excellent ballads during the concert, such as “BOY” and “Will be Fine“. With KISU’s ballads and emotional songs, KISU connected with the audience. It was a beautiful moment to hear live, calming songs like these. We also heard popular cover songs of Harry Styles (“As It Was”) and The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber (“Stay”).

The small but enthusiastic crowd in the concert venue was happy to hear KISU’s incredible vocals! He also danced in the audience and high-fived everyone, which was fun! KISU talked with the audience in English and Korean, as there was a translator. We spoke of Finnish food (reindeer meat!) and other things. The concert atmosphere was warm and intimate because you could see everyone so close. This must have also been an experience for KISU to meet fans like this.

Amazing concert night with KISU!

The concert was a cosy and warm event between KISU and the fans! This was a rare occasion when you could see a K-pop artist in a setting like this, so I am grateful for the experience. KISU has a lovely personality with good humour, and his performance was terrific on this concert night in Helsinki. The fans also had a chance to get an album signed and take a photo with him.

KISU is currently on “Dal Segno” world tour in Europe, so I highly recommend you go and see his concert if you can! Excellent songs, KISU’s great vocals, and a warm atmosphere in the show are reasons to go see this tour. This event will stay in the memories of Finnish fans and the audience. Thank you, KISU and the organizers, for your hard work and for bringing the tour to Helsinki, Finland! I hope you had a great stay in my home country and enjoyed the culture here!
